The Severstal-Auto-Isuzu joint venture has started the production of Isuzu commercial vehicles in the Alabuga special economic zone in Russia’s Volga republic of Tatarstan.


The JV is to produce up to 25,000 vehicles annually after it reaches its design capacity next year, according to Russian Financial Control Monitor.


Severstal-Auto also plans to start manufacturing Isuzu engines.


The Alabuga special economic zone is located in the Yelabuga Region of Tatarstan. The companies operating in the zone produce auto components and motor vehicles.
