Avtoframos is 94.1% owned by Renault. The remainder is owned by the Moscow city government. Avtoframos also assembles Renault Logan cars.
In 2009, Avtoframos assembled 49,650 cars, according to ASM Holding, which monitors the country’s auto industry.
Renault said earlier this month that it would launch additional production facilities at Avtoframos on March 1 to increase their total production capacity to 160,000 cars per year from 80,000 cars per year currently.
