RUSSIA: Plastic Omnium signs fuel tank JV with Russian firm
Inergy Automotive Systems, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Plastic Omnium, has signed an agreement with Russian company Detalstroykonstruktsiya to create a joint venture making plastic fuel tanks for the Russian market.
Inergy Automotive Systems, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Plastic Omnium, has signed an agreement with Russian company Detalstroykonstruktsiya to create a joint venture making plastic fuel tanks for the Russian market.
The company, which will be 51% owned by Inergy Automotive Systems, will supply fuel tanks to a number of makers including AvtoVAZ, Ford and Avtoframos, as well as future Nissan and Renault models produced in Russia.
Plastic Omnium said that the new company will benefit from rapid growth of the Russian car market as well as the substitution of steel tanks for plastic ones.
