Further details have emerged following today’s (17 October) news GAZ Group CEO, Bo Andersson, has been recommended to succeed current chief, Igor Komarov.

The current AvtoVAZ president will tender his resignation at the next company board meeting, before moving to Russian space agency, Roskosmos.

“At the same board meeting Carlos Ghosn, chairman of AvtoVAZ, Sergey Chemezov, vice chairman of AvtoVAZ, and Igor Komarov, will nominate Bo Andersson as one of the candidates for president of AvtoVAZ,” said a statement sent to just-auto from AvtoVAZ.

“Until the next president of AvtoVAZ begins his term, the duties of president will be discharged on an interim basis by Oleg Lobanov, EVP of finance and corporate development.

Andersson was was appointed vice-president of GM Group for global purchasing and supply in 2001 and in 2009 he became president and CEO of GAZ Group.

GAZ Group was not immediately available for comment.
