Russian tyre producer Nizhnekamskshina, a unit of oil producer Tatneft, is expected to increase tyre output 6% year on the year to 10m units in 2010, according to data released by Tatneft-Neftekhim, a company that manages Tatneft’s petrochemical companies, obtained by Prime-Tass.
In 2009, the firm’s tyre output fell over 20% to 9.433m.

In late 2009, Tatarstan-based Tatneft opened a new plant called Nizhnekamsky Zavod Tselnometallokordykh Shin in Nizhnekamsk. The plant was designed to produce ‘all-steel’ truck tyres, which have a longer lifespan than other tyres and reduce fuel consumption. The plant was expected to produce 171,000 new tyres in July–December 2010, Tatneft-Neftekhim said.
