Nissan is considering building an assembly plant in Russia, according to local news reports. Itar-Tass reports that, while no final decision on a site has yet been made, it believes that a location 15km outside St. Petersburg, near Gorskaya Station, is being considered.
Dow Jones has confirmed that Nissan may be considering expansion in Russia. The company’s president and chief executive Carlos Ghosn said last month that Nissan would need a plant in Russia at some point.
