Gestamp–Severstal, a joint venture between Russian steelmaker Severstal and Spain’s Gestamp, expects to receive approval of its stamping production from Volkswagen by October.
Gestamp–Severstal is located in the Grabtsevo technology park located in Russia’s Kaluga Region where VW’s plant recently switched from SKD to full production.
Annual production at the stamping plant is 13m pieces. Volkswagen, Peugeot, Citroen, and Renault are to be the major customers. Investment in the project totaled EUR89m, including EUR39.5m on equipment.
