Russian Lada cars will be assembled in a new plant in Egypt from Monday (21 February).
Pilot production began last December, according to Prime-Tass.
Lada Egypt plans to assemble Lada 2107 and 110 cars at the plant and the brand’s owner AvtoVAZ is expected to supply 3,300 assembly kits this year.
Lada Egypt has previously assembled 2107 models at a plant on the outskirts of the Egyptian capital, Cairo, the report said.
Total AvtoVAZ output last year rose just 0.5% to 721,492 cars, while exports totalled 96,984.
