RUSSIA: Mercedes-Benz bus assembly in Nizhni Novgorod?
The Evobus bus company - affiliated with DaimlerChrysler - is considering the possibility of assembling Mercedes Benz city buses in Nizhni Novgorod, say Russian media reports (13/9/00).
Local reports say that preliminary talks, between city authorities and the President of Evobus Rusland - a Evobus subsidiary - have already taken place.

Local reports say that preliminary talks, between city authorities and the President of Evobus Rusland – a Evobus subsidiary – have already taken place.
Russian media also says that Nizhni Novogorod’s Mayoral office is set to guarantee purchases of no less than 300 large city buses per year, with tax breaks for three to five years.
