Russia’s GAZ Group will start selling British-built Maxus light commercial vehicles, produced by its British subsidiary LDV in September.

It will sell Maxus vans with short and long wheelbases, combi-vans, minibuses with 6 to 15 seats and light trucks, GAZ Group told Prime-Tass.

GAZ Group bought a 100% stake in LDV from US fund Sun Capital in July 2006 and its automaker company GAZ plans to start assembling Maxus vans in Russia in 2008, building 3,000 units that year.

The major shareholder of the GAZ Group is Russian Machines which is part of Basic Element.
