Russia’s car output rose 98% year on year to 1.081m units in January-November, the country’s economic development ministry said in December. Truck production rose 67.4% on the year to 137,000 vehicles in this period.

The ministry attributed the growth to post-crisis recovery and government programmes to stimulate the auto industry.

The performance of the Lada was in line with forecasts the company made in September but ahead of estimates made at the start of 2010.
