Russian truck maker Kamaz has opened an assembly facility in the Far Eastern city of Khabarovsk.

The facility, called Kamaz-Vostok, is expected to produce crew buses, insulated vans, and high sided trucks and has an annual production capacity of around 250 units.

Previously, automaker Sollers was the only Russian automaker to have set up an assembly facility in Russia’s Far East.

The Sollers plant, which opened in Vladivostok in late 2009, is scheduled to assemble 10,000 SsangYong SUVs this year.
