Hyundai Motor’s new plant in Russia has ended its summer break by starting production of Rio models for subsidiary Kia.

The plant also started to work three shifts on Monday, Hyundai told Prime-Tass.

The plant plans to produce 20,000 Rios in 2011 and about 100,000 units in 2012, Hyundai said.

The plant’s annual production capacity is 150,000 vehicles. In 2012, the automaker expects to increase annual production capacity to 200,000 vehicles, Hyundai said.
