Russian car output rose 67.9% year on year to 488,000 units in January–June, the economic development ministry said in a report.

The increase in output was attributed mainly to low output in January–June 2009 because of low demand and the suspension of production at some car plants, the ministry said.
Russia’s truck output rose 51.1% on the year to 60,100 trucks in January–June, the ministry added.
