Output by GM Uzbekistan, a joint venture between General Motors and Uzbek automaker Uzavtoprom, rose 4.2% year on year to 184,572 units in January – November, Uzbekistan’s state statistics committee said in a report obtained by Prime-Tass on Tuesday.

Of the total, GM Uzbekistan produced 81,570 Nexia cars, down 6.5% on the year; 62,061 Matiz compact cars, down 2.5% on the year; 21,280 Damas minivans, down 4.3% on the year; 979 Epica cars, down 34% on the year; and 954 Captiva SUVs, down 33% on the year. The company also produced 17,728 Lacetti cars in the period, this model was not last year.
In 2008, GM Uzbekistan’s car output increased 13.5% on the year to 195,038 units.
At present, GM holds 25% plus one share in the joint venture, while Uzavtoprom holds the remaining 75%.
