GAZ Group plans to lay off around 7,000 employees at its Nizhny Novgorod region factories in July-August, Gennady Suvorov, the region’s deputy governor for social policy, told Prime-Tass.

As of the end of March, the group employed around 89,000 people but it was not clear how many of those workers were employed at the plants, the news agency said.
GAZ Group is Russia’s second largest car and truck maker with 18 auto production companies.
