GAZ Group is remaining tight-lipped as to why its current head, Bo Andersson, has been recommended to succeed AvtoVAZ CEO, Igor Komarov.
The climactic news Andersson – widely credited with making GAZ Group a success – could jump ship and join iconic AvtoVAZ – will immediately start speculation as to his successor although no candidates have yet broken cover.

“Mr Andersson still has a contract with GAZ Group and we have no further comment to make,” a Russian Machines – parent of GAZ Group – spokeswoman told just-auto from Moscow.
“Right now, he continues working in his position.
The current AvtoVAZ president will tender his resignation at the next company board meeting, before moving to Russian space agency, Roskosmos.
At the same board meeting, AvtoVAZ chairman, Carlos Ghosn and others, will nominate Andersson as one of the candidates for president.
Andersson was not immediately available for comment.
