GAZ Group, part of Russia’s largest diversified industrial group Basic Element, announced the start of GAZ vehicles sales, including the GAZelle Next and GAZon Next, in Georgia.
Base versions of the new vehicles, including the cargo and passenger/cargo versions as well as 19-seat frame buses were presented at a launch ceremony along with different versions of specialty vehicles based on GAZ chassis including ambulances, fire engines and various structures designed for commercial customers.
Next LCVs will be shipped to Georgia either with Cummins ISF 2.8 diesel engines or with EvoTech 2.7 petrol engines, Next MDT’s will be supplied with YAMZ-534 diesel engines.
Among the vehicles whose sales also launched are GAZelle Business, Sobol Business (including AWD versions), GAZ-3309 and Sadko GAZ-3308.
The vehicles are being sold by Strada Auto company, a GAZ dealer in Georgia.
Oleg Markov, GAZ Group LCV division’s marketing and sales director, said: “These vehicles from the very beginning were developed with the foreign markets’ requirements in mind. Development of export sales is one of the priority tasks for our company and it allows not only increasing production volumes but also diversifying the sales markets and insuring against exchange rate fluctuations.”
