Russia’s GAZ Group plans to sign a two-year agreement to hire seven employees from DaimlerChrysler to train GAZ workers and deal with assembly and equipment installation, Elena Matveyeva, a spokeswoman with GAZ’s Trading House Russkiye Mashiny (Russian Vehicles), told Russian business daily Vedomosti.

GAZ and Daimler Chrysler declined to disclose the names of the DaimlerChrysler employees.
Earlier, GAZ signed an agreement with Davis Eggers of Ford, who is expected to work as GAZ’s financial director starting Thursday.
Eggers was financial director at Ford Russia Manufacturing until 2003, then worked at Ford world headquarters until 2004 after which he was appointed deputy financial director of Ford Asia-Pacific and Africa.
Anna Koff, a partner with headhunting company RosExpert, told Prime-Tass that the cost of hiring Eggers would be about $US600,000-700,000 annually.

GAZ Group was created last year after the consolidation of some of the production assets of Russia’s major automobile holding RusPromAuto around GAZ, Russia’s second largest car and truck maker.
