Sales of foreign-brand cars in Russia rose 59% in August to 142,388 units, according to the Association of European Businesses in the Russian Federation (AEB).

The figures, provided to Reuters by the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee, included production of foreign branded vehicles in Russia.
Foreign car sales in the first eight months of 2007 rose 66% year on year to 1,005,029 units, the report added.
