Ford has started supplying Focus generation three hatchbacks produced at its plant in the city of Vsevolozhsk in Russia’s Leningrad Region to customers, the company said.

The order bank already amounts to 9,000 units, the company added.

It started producing the new models on 18 July, Prime-Tass said.

Sedans output begins in September and wagons start in January 2012, the company said.

Order taking began in June.

Ford plans to sell about 85,000 Focus cars in Russia this year.

In 2010, it sold 90,100 vehicles in Russia, up 10% year on year.
