New car sales fell by 8% last month in Russia to 234,500 units, according to figures published on Monday by the Association of European Businesses (AEB). This was the eighth consecutive month of falling sales and means the 10 month total was down 7% from the same period last year at 2.2m vehicles.
Lada remained the country’s best selling brand despite a year on year fall of 25% for the month to 37,800 units.

Second place Renault saw a 9% improvement to 18,400 units while Kia and Hyundai, third and fourth, also posted improvements of 5% and 8% respectively to 17,600 and 15,800. Fifth placed Chevrolet saw sales slide 22% to 14,600 while VW, in sixth, fell 11% to 12,600.
