AvtoVAZ increased its domestic car sales 13% year-on-year to 322,600 vehicles in January-June, the company said in a statement.

The growth illustrates that AvtoVAZ is also reaping some benefit from explosive growth in the Russian car market this year. International car brands with local assembly operations are also making rapid gains this year.
AvtoVAZ sold 88,500 cars of the Lada 2105/2107 group, 88,300 Lada Samara cars, 56,600 Lada Priora cars, 46,500 Lada Kalina cars, 31,700 Lada 110 cars and 11,000 Lada 4×4 vehicles.
AvtoVAZ also exported over 57,200 Lada vehicles in January-June, up 16.9% on the year, the company said.
In 2007, AvtoVAZ sold 663,500 vehicles on the domestic market, while its exports amounted to 106,900 vehicles.

By GlobalDataPrime-Tass reported that the company has introduced additional working shifts on Saturdays in July to keep pace with growing demand.
The plant will work on July 5, July 12, July 19 and July 26, in accordance with an agreement with the plant’s labour union, the report said.
AvtoVAZ plans to produce an extra 3,348 cars and assembly kits as a result of the additional shifts.
