AvtoVAZ has increased its domestic car sales 17.9% in the first five months of the year to 273,800 units the company said in a statement.

Of that total, AvtoVAZ sold 77,100 cars of the Lada 2105/2107 group; 74,000 Lada Samara cars; 74,000 cars of the Lada 111/112 and Priora group; 39,200 Lada Kalina cars; and 9,000 Lada 4×4 vehicles.
AvtoVAZ also exported over 47,300 Lada vehicles in January-May, up 17.4% on the year, the company said.
In 2007, AvtoVAZ sold 663,500 vehicles on the domestic market, while its exports amounted to 106,900 vehicles.
AvtoVAZ has also announced another price hike – its third this year reflecting cost pressures. Its car prices will rise an average of 1.5 percent.
