Yushkevich said that the bus production will be based at the Golitsin bus plant in the Moscow Region. One bus model from the Brazilian producer, an international tourist class model, is to be adapted especially for Russia.

Yushkevich also said that RusPromAvto is in talks with some foreign companies to create a joint venture to produce cars in Russia. Reportedly among these foreign companies is Japan’s Nissan and India’s Mahindra. He said that the joint venture would definitely not produce the cars that are currently made by RusPromAvto. At present, the holding produces E-class Volga cars.

RusPromAvto controls 18 companies, including Russia’s GAZ, the Ural automobile plant and most Russian bus makers and producers of road-construction equipment. The holding also includes the Yaroslavl Motor Plant, one of the country’s leading diesel engine designers and producers, and some manufacturers of parts for diesel engines, Prime-Tass noted.
