The Romanian News Digest said that a €5 million euro ($US5.38 million) plant to make electric wiring for BMW, Mercedes and Audi cars would be built in Hunedoara, southwestern Romania, by German company Lisadraxelmaier. The Digest cited Mircea Goian, spokesman for local steel mill Siderurgica, as its source.

About 1,000 jobs are expected to be created. The German investor has bought a 6.7 hectare plot of land for the plant from Siderurgica and signed the sale contract on Thursday.
Most of the jobs at the future plant would be taken by redundant Siderurgica employees, the report said.
