Japanese firm Fujikura Automotive, an electronics manufacturer for cars, said it would double production and personnel in its plant in Cluj, northwestern Romania, in 2011.
Following a new contract with carmaker Volkswagen, the Japanese group will hire 630 people more, doubling its staff in its Transylvanian factory.
“We are going to create new jobs as a new project was attributed to the plant in Cluj,” the group’s vice-president Ignacio Ibarra told AFP after talks with local authorities.
Fujikura Automotive bought the plant in 2008 from the Spanish company ACE.
