Roechling Automotive has entered into an agreement with Japanese automotive supplier, Kasai Kogyo to sell its plant in Wolfsburg-Hattorf for an undisclosed price.

The 13,000 square metre plant in Wolfsburg-Hattorf, built in 2001, produces door and side panels for automobiles. However, Roechling Automotive has increasingly focused on systems and components for aerodynamics, propulsion and new mobility in recent years.

The sale of the plant concludes a process started by the plastics specialist in 2011. “We are investing the proceeds in new mobility,” said Erwin Doll, Vice-chairman of the Roechling Group and responsible for the Automotive division.

“We stand by our responsibility to all employees. This is why a long-term perspective for the plant was important to us. With Kasai Kogyo, we have found a company to be the right partner.”

No job losses are anticipated.

Roechling Automotive belongs to the Mannheim-based Roechling Group with more than 9,700 employees at 90 locations worldwide.
