Röchling Automotive has laid the foundation stone for its new EUR9m (US$10.2m) Technical Centre in Worms, Germany, employing 230 staff

The supplier says the new site has been triggered by the Group’s worldwide growth, requirements for production and logistics space, as well as the lack of office capacity at the location.

From Worms, Röchling manages seven plants in Germany, Belgium and the Czech Republic. In addition, the Technical Centre will function as an R&D location, while product innovations and serial projects will be developed for all Röchling Automotive’s sites worldwide.

“We are developing integrated systems here such as our controlled shutter systems, underbody systems, and solutions for thermoacoustic engine encapsulation, said Röchling general manager Engineering, Mirco Brusco.

For her part, Röchling commercial manager, Evelyn Thome, noted: “With a modern work environment, we want to appeal to the specialists and engineers of today and tomorrow,” adding there were plans to recruit 15 to 20 new engineers next year.
