CEO Mate Rimac wants to tap Mobileye’s autonomous driving platform for the vehicle, in addition to its camera and LiDAR tech, Bloomberg reported.

The mobility service has been dubbed Verne after the French novelist and poet Jules Verne, author of adventure novels such as Journey to the Centre of the Earth.

With Level 4 autonomous driving, Rimac’s concept vehicle has no steering wheel, no pedals and sliding doors designed to not obstruct traffic in busy city streets.

Verne riders will reportedly be able to summon a vehicle via an app which will also enable them to customise certain settings in the vehicle such as lighting and temperature.

Last week Rimac unveiled the Tourbillion, a EUR3.8m (US$4.1m) model which will succeed the 16-cylinder Chiron.

The supercar firm merged with Bugatti in 2021.
