Former Renault Group CEO Luca de Meo left the company last month to take up a position at luxury goods firm Gucci.

The company said that the search for a permanent CEO is “well underway” under the supervision of the board’s Governance and Remuneration Committee.

In 1997, Minto began the career with Renault Group in the UK. His journey within the company has seen him take on various roles, including finance director of Renault-Nissan Portugal and Renault Ireland’s managing director.

In 2017, he was promoted to vice president for Finance, Group Control Analysis, and later became CFO of Dacia and the Alpine brand.

Minto joined the leadership team as CFO of Renault Group in March 2025.

Meanwhile, Renault Group’s preliminary financial figures for the first half (H1) of this year show an increase of 2.5% to group revenue of €27.6bn ($32.2bn), and an operating margin at 6% of group revenue.

The company said that its free cash-flow was €47m ($54.87m).

Earlier this month, Renault Group said it was preparing to launch the Renault Boreal SUV, targeting markets beyond Europe.

The Boreal is designed to boost growth and strengthen the brand’s presence in the C segment across more than 70 countries.

In April, Renault showcased its Emblème concept demonstration vehicle, which would emit 90% fewer greenhouse gases as against a 2019 baseline over its entire life cycle.

In the same month, the company also renewed its partnership with musician Jean-Michel Jarre to further develop “immersive” sound experiences in its vehicles.
