A new Fiat model will be made at the company’s plant in Tychy, Poland, Deputy Prime Minister Janusz Piechocinski said.
He added an official decision would be made in May, Thenews.pl reported, citing the Polish Press Agency.
Piechocinski said: “I have met Fiat representatives and, at the beginning of May, there will be some very good news not only for the Tychy factory workers, but for the whole [automotive] sector.”
According to just-auto’s Production Life Database, a redesigned Fiat 500 will go into production in Poland in 2015.
A year later, a new five-door version is expected to follow, effectively replacing the current Punto.
