Lear has confirmed a new factory to make metal structure systems for car seats in Poland, located in Legnica’s special economic zone, and expected to hire a few hundred employees.
An earlier report said the facility had been built originally for Chinese computer maker Lenovo.

The plant in the town of Legnickie Pole will be Lear’s fourth factory in Poland, according to Polish News Bulletin. The existing factories – in Tychy, Mielec and Jaroslaw – employ a combined 6,000 employees.
Lear Corporation Poland II said it was in the process of recruiting people for key positions and would soon start hiring and training other employees for the new plant.
The new factory is to reach full production capacity at the end of 2014. Products manufactured in Legnickie Pole will be exported to Lear’s numerous factories across Europe, including those in the Czech Republic, France, the Netherlands, Germany and the UK. The company did not, however, reveal the value of the new investment which has been reported locally at about EUR20m.
