Poland’s output of passenger cars increased by 30.2% year-on-year to 696,237 units for the January to September period, according to car market researcher Samar.

In September alone, passenger car output stood at 99,222 units, up 23.9% year-on-year, registering the second largest monthly figure in its history.
Fiat Auto Poland took the lead producing 339,130 units in the nine-month period, up 37.8% on the year. Fiat makes its 500 in Poland in a joint venture with Ford – whose new Ka is also made in Poland under the JV.
Opel Polska was second with 151,779 units, recording an annual rise of 16.4% and a market share of 21.8%.
FSO, a subsidiary of Ukrainian AvtoZAZ, came third with 139,966 units, up 35.5% year-on-year.
