The facility in Rzeszów will produce 500,000 turbochargers a year for European car makers from 2009 onwards. Around 200 employees will work at the 5,000 square metre site at the Podkarpackie Science and Technology Park to the southeast of Krakow.

The investment comes as demand for turbochargers for diesel and petrol engines is rising, as manufacturers prise energy efficiency gains from their powerplants.

The city in the southeast of Poland was chosen because of its low-cost location and its excellent transport links. Jasionk Airport is close by for flights to western and eastern European countries.
