Asahi Glass is to purchase NordGlass from the Polish Enterprise Fund V1, a private equity operation managed by Enterprise Investors through AGC Automotive Europe.
The move – to boost Asahi’s automotive replacement glass business – is subject to approval from European competition authorities.

NordGlass specialises in producing windscreens for the automotive industry and is a major player in the European aftermarket, with sales of around 1.3m in 2014.
“This acquisition is complementary in geographical terms to AGC’s existing network of facilities and so will enable it to reinforce its position in Europe,” noted an Asahi statement.
The company employs more than 1,100 people in Europe.
