Plastic Omnium has opened a Tokyo centre grouping 80 people to support the supplier’s growth in Japanese automotive manufacturers.
It houses the design and management of the development of new automotive programmes and ensures sales development for all Plastic Omnium’s automotive activities: exterior components and modules, fuel systems and emissions control systems, for Japanese manufacturers.
Today, Plastic Omnium partners the Japanese manufacturers Honda, Isuzu, Nissan, Suzuki and Toyota, which it supplies on four continents and in 14 different countries.
The share of these manufacturers, which represents 6% of Plastic Omnium’s global automotive revenue, is expected to increase with the construction of new production capacity and the development of new offerings.
The Group is in particular involved in the construction of a new Asian plant for Maruti-Suzuki and has recently launched production of the SCR emissions control system for Toyota’s diesel vehicles at its Kitakyushu plant in Japan.
