Honda is to make vehicle transmissions in a new 770 million peso ($US15.5 million) Philippines factory, according to reports citing a government official.

A spokesman for president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo said that, during a visit to Japan, Honda officials revealed plans to expand their Philippine manufacturing.
