Japan’s Isuzu continued the regional roll-out of its new MU-X model with the launch earlier this week in the Philippines.
The MU-X, which replaced the 10-year-old MU-7 model, made its world debut in Thailand in November last year. It is based on the D-Max platform and is powered by a four-cylinder three-litre turbodiesel engine. It was launched in Indonesia in the second quarter of this year.
In the Philippines, the MU-X replaces the Alterra and prices start at PHP1.2m (US$27,316) for the base model, rising to PHP1.75m. Isuzu aims to sell around 500 units per month with a sales target for 2015 of 6,000 units.
