The Pakistan government has finalised a new policy to attract automotive investment, according to DAWN, a Pakistani English-language newspaper.
The policy will be unveiled on June 5th as part of the country’s budget announcement.
Incentives will be made available to new entrants not already active in the automotive industry in Pakistan. A new tariff structure will also be put in place.
According to DAWN, new entrants must be companies with a significant global presence. They would be allowed to import CKD kits at a reduced tariff rate.
Separate incentives are already in force to encourage the manufacture of taxis.
