Kongsberg Automotive (KA) has won a EUR11.2m (US$14.63m) contract to supply seat heat systems in China through its interior systems business unit.

The deal is with a global OEM for a “popular crossover SUV” and a “C segment sedan car” sold in China.

Production will start in the second half of 2015 at KA’s factoryy in Wuxi, China. The contract will run for seven years.

“This [deal] shows the strength of our global team and global approach. Our North American and Chinese sales teams collaborated… to show the customer the value of working with KA: global designs, strong local support and a high quality product regardless of region or manufacturing site,” said global sales chief Hans Jørgen Mørland.
