Nissan Motor unveiled its all-new Elgrand premium MPV at the Japan Mobility Show (JMS 2025) in Japan, as the Japanese automaker looks to “energise” its domestic market presence under its Re:Nissan recovery plan, which is “centred on delivering innovative products, intelligent technologies, and memorable experiences.”
The fourth-generation Elgrand, displayed alongside the recently launched all-new Leaf battery electric vehicle (BEV), the new Roox Kei car, and the updated Skyline sedan, is powered by Nissan’s third-generation e-POWER hybrid powertrain, offering reduced noise and vibrations, and Nissan’s updated e-4ORCE electric four-wheel drive system.

The new Elgrand’s interior features dual 14.3-inch integrated displays providing driver information and infotainment, Bose speakers, and 64-colour ambient lighting. The model will be available with Nissan’s ProPILOT 1.0 ADAS system as standard, which supports hands-off operation at speeds below 50 km/h. The ProPILOT 2.0 will be available as an option, offering hands-free highway driving and lane change assistance. The new Elgrand is scheduled to hit the Japanese market in the summer of 2026.
Also on display was the updated Ariya battery-powered crossover vehicle, scheduled to be released in Japan later in the current fiscal year, featuring a more refined exterior, Google-powered infotainment, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, and suspension upgrades designed to enhance ride comfort. Nissan said the upgrades “aim to deliver a more connected, stylish, and comfortable electric driving experience tailored for Japanese consumers.”
Nissan also previewed its new Patrol flagship SUV, which is scheduled to be launched in Japan in the first half of the 2027 fiscal year (FY27), marking a return to this segment after a 20-year absence, since it ceased production of the Safari in 2007.
