Nissan has started production of the redesigned Juke at its Sunderland, north east England, plant, following a GBP100m spend.
This latest Juke was developed specifically for Europe with Sunderland the only production location for the second generation compact crossover.

Developed by Nissan’s European design and R&D teams in Paddington, London, and Cranfield, Bedfordshire, 70% of Juke production will be for EU markets with two thirds of suppliers based in the EU.
Plant workers received 5,000 hours of training and spending on the plant included 27 new die sets in the press shop.
Four new spray booths have been built in the paint shop to accommodate the choice of 15 two tone body colour combinations now offered.

By GlobalDataThe Juke has a 117PS, one litre, three-cylinder DIG-T turbocharged petrol engine which also is manufactured in Sunderland.
Nissan is axing Sunderland’s night shift but said extra manufacturing staff would be needed on the plant’s production line two.
In a restructuring of the production schedule, these staff will transfer from line one, with both operating on a two shift pattern.
Overall headcount at the plant will remain the same, Nissan said.
Connected services and over-the-air updates make the new Juke the most connected Nissan so far.
The new model comes with in car NissanConnect, an eight inch touch screen monitor, WiFi hotspot and voice recognition while ProPilot technology, new to the Juke, offers electronically assisted steering, acceleration and braking.
Sales start at the end of November.
