Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company Ltd (Dongfeng Nissan), one of Nissan Motor’s vehicle manufacturing joint ventures in China, announced that it had received more than 17,000 orders for its new N7 battery-powered sedan in its first month.
The N7, launched on 27 April, is the first of nine new energy vehicles (NEVs) that Nissan plans to launch in China by the summer of 2027, as the Japanese automaker looks to reverse its sharp sales decline in the world’s largest vehicle market. Deliveries of the N7, which is targeted mainly at young families, began on 15 May.
The N7 is available with two battery options, 58 kWh and 73 kWh, and has a maximum cruising range of 635 km. The car is equipped with an advanced end-to-end driver-assistant system called Navigate on Autopilot, which was jointly developed with Momenta – a Chinese autonomous driving technology company. The model also features “zero-pressure seating”, which uses an AI-based adaptive posture system that adjusts the seat based on input from individual sensors.
The N7 is available in China with three specification levels, the Max, Pro and Air. The Max and Pro models offer two types of battery at prices ranging between CNY 119,900 and CNY 149,900.
Dongfeng Nissan’s managing director, Isao Sekiguchi, said in a statement: “With the launch of the N7 as a new starting point, we will work together with everyone to create a more diverse and exciting automotive lifestyle.”
Nissan confirmed it plans to export the N7 and other Chinese-made NEVs to “help meet diverse global needs and bolster the restructuring of Nissan’s product strategy under the Re:Nissan recovery plan.”
