The development, according to PAN, is significant, adding that it underscores continuity and “a portrayal of total commitment to sustain production by Peugeot Nigerian and foreign stakeholders”.
The commissioning of the new production line is planned for November 23.
PAN says that the 307 Sedan production line is designed to produce 22 units a day and 7000 units a year.
Earlier this year some analysts tipped the PAN plant for closure. It has a history of financial worries and periodic disruptions to production.
