The long-awaited compact car is code-named EFC (Entry Family Car) and is under development for production and sale in India and Brazil.
Toyota has said it plans to begin production of the car, expected to cost well under US$10,000, at a new Indian factory from late 2010. Production in Brazil is unlikely to start before 2011.
Other vehicles on display in New Delhi will include the redesigned Prado and Fortuner SUVs and the India-market-leading Innova minivan.
The TKM display will also present Toyota’s active approach toward developing modes of transportation for the future by showing the i-REAL personal mobility vehicle, the Fine-S fuel-cell hybrid vehicle and other concepts.
