National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) has appointed Fredrik Ahlström as vice president Purchasing from 1 June and will take over from Per Svantesson, who will be responsible for Strategy and Business Development as well as lead the Project Management Office.

Ahlström was formerly VP of Cevt, responsible for building up its Purchasing organisation and structuring the company’s global processes in Sweden and in China. Prior to that he was a part of NEVS’ Purchasing operation.

“I’m very glad to welcome Fredrik back to our NEVS team,” said NEVS president, Mattias Bergman.

“Besides his broad experience and well proven competence within purchasing, he is also a good and respected leader who will contribute to the strengthening of NEVS.”

NEVS was founded in 2012 and acquired the main assets of Saab Automobile. The company is owned by NME Holdings in Tianjin City, the Tianjin Binhai Hi-tech Industrial Development Area, (THT) and State Research Information Technology (SRIT).

NEVS’ head office and main research and development facilities are located in Trollhättan, Sweden along with the car production plant.

 A second production plant and an R&D Centre are under construction in Tianjin.
