Tesla has opened a new factory dedicated to supplying European customers with its Model S EV. The factory, located in Tilburg, in the Netherlands, streamlines the production process for European deliveries, the automaker said.

The Tilburg factory assembles the Model S from parts made in Tesla’s US factory in Fremont, California – the former NUMMI joint venture plant. Dutch assembly includes installation of the battery pack, powertrain and rear axle and the cars first firmware upload, followed by full testing.
