Mitsubishi Motors is expanding its existing European parts distribution centre with a new warehouse, located in the new IPS industrial park in Sittard-Geleen.

The foundation stone was laid on Tuesday. The 43,000 m² facility is due to open in the third quarter of 2006 and will supplement the current 26,500 m² warehouse.

The warehouse will serve 36 Mitsubishi distributors, importing from Europe, Japan, Thailand and Australia and exporting to Europe, Israël, Japan, South Africa and South America. Turnover is currently € 370 million a year.

The expanded warehouse will create 100 new jobs by 2007. Current headcount is 150.
