Mitsubishi Motors Europe B.V. (MME) has announced today new senior appointments at its Swedish (97 % owned) and Danish (100 % owned) distributors.

Effective April 1st, 2002, this new organisation will follow the return to Japan of Mr M. Matsuzaka, Managing Director for both countries.

Mr Matsuzaka will be succeeded by his current Deputy Managing Directors; Mr. T. Hägg will be appointed as Managing Director in Sweden and Mr. C. Schultz will be acting as Managing Director in Denmark.

MME said that the re-organisation mirrors the European Turnaround Plan of Mitsubishi presented two weeks ago at the Geneva Motor Show by Mr S. Jacoby – President & CEO of MME – with emphasis on leaner organisation and better reliance on local expertise for truly customer-oriented and results-driven operations.

In 2001, Mitsubishi sold 7,377 vehicles in Sweden and 2,305 in Denmark. For 2002, the company forecast sales of 7,600 units and 2,700 units respectively.
